PITTSBURGH, PA – Sullivan Super Service is pleased to announce its 13th Annual Food Drive benefitting the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank. The food drive will be held from September through the end of the year. Technicians will request donations during service calls and donors not in need of service may drop off items or request a pick up.
Each year, the company kicks off the food drive during September in honor of Hunger Action Month. The company joins the Feeding America nationwide network of food banks to urge individuals to take action in their communities during this month. The annual food drive was started in 2001 by Sullivan Super Service owner John L. Sullivan who recognized the need to provide for those less fortunate in our region.
“Our customers enjoy the opportunity to contribute to our community and our employees enjoy making it easy for them,” said owner John L. Sullivan, “We provide a discount as our thank you for supporting this worthy cause.”
To encourage donations, Sullivan Super Service rewards its customers who donate five or more items with a coupon for $25 off their next service call. In addition, the company hosts a contest amongst its employees with the prize of a restaurant gift certificate redeemable at many of Pittsburgh’s best restaurants.
This year, the company hopes to beat last year’s collection of food and monetary donations. The food bank especially requests items needed for holiday dinners served in the upcoming months. These items include instant mashed potatoes, boxed stuffing mix, canned corn, beans and yams, canned cranberry, cornbread mix, instant or canned gravy, pie crust, mix and filling, canned fruit, cake, brownie and dessert mixes and 100% juice.
Interested donors who are not in need of service may drop off donations at the business office located at 910 Braddock Avenue in Braddock or by requesting a pick up by calling 412-271-0900.
