Sullivan Super Service got creative for this year’s Pittsburgh Home & Garden Show. Instead of the usual gimmicks, we decided to tie-in a new offer that would really help homeowners during these economic times while continuing to promote our new brand.
We teamed up with our HVAC supplier, Comfortmaker®, to offer one lucky Pittsburgh homeowner a new furnace to replace their “furnace from the Dark Ages.” We surprised the winners of the contest by arriving on their doorstep with balloons and a film crew to capture the announcement. Mr. & Mrs. Dillon of Lawrenceville were the lucky winners with a furnace over 50 years old. They verified the age by presenting the original paperwork that came with the old furnace.
The “Oldest Furnace Contest” was rolled out through a direct mail piece to prospects and clients as well as to attendees at the Monroeville Home Show and Pittsburgh Home & Garden Show. Homeowners had to submit the approximate age of their furnace on an entry form, and the top ten entries received a site visit from Sullivan’s Comfort Advisors to determine the winner. The furnace age had to be verified through the original paperwork.
Habegger-Myers, the distributor of Comfortmaker HVAC products, generously donated the furnace we will install at the home of the contest winner. The furnace is a High Efficient Variable Speed furnace up to 80,000 BTU and 96% efficient and the top seller for the distribution company
